Brevard County Parks and Recreation Teams-up with KinderLatch
Brevard County Leads the Way: A Safer Standard for Our Parks
Brevard County is known for its beautiful coastlines. space launches and vibrant community spaces, and today, that commitment to excellence is moving to the perimeter. We are excited to announce that Brevard County Parks and Recreation is officially transitioning to KinderLatch hardware across its playground and sports field facilities.
This move marks a significant shift toward a safer gate latch solution for the families, athletes, and visitors who enjoy our county’s outdoor spaces every day.
Why the Change? A Safer Hardware Solution
Traditional chain-link gate latches feature protruding metal “forks” and jagged edges. By adopting KinderLatch, Brevard County is opting for a more thoughtful, streamlined design that improves the park experience.
A Safer Profile for Active Spaces
In the heat of a soccer match or a game of tag, momentum is high. Traditional latches are positioned at the height of a child’s face or an athlete’s torso. KinderLatch offers a better silhouette with:
- Radiused Edges: Replacing the sharp metal forks with polymer bulbous’ covers.
- Curved-Profile Design: Removing the “fork” hazards that can lead to severe contusions or eye injuries.
- Smart Balance Design: Our patented curved bulbous’ covers act as a counterweight to keep the gate latch in position, whether open or closed.
A Safer Experience for Every User
We believe that accessing our parks should be effortless. KinderLatch provides an intuitive, easy-open trigger that is a major upgrade from stiff, outdated hardware. Whether you’re a coach carrying a bag of balls or a parent with a stroller, the ergonomic handle makes gate operation simple and fluid.
Rolling Out Across the Space Coast
Crews will begin installing KinderLatch hardware at high-traffic regional parks and neighborhood playgrounds over the coming months. This initiative ensures that Brevard County remains a leader in facility management—prioritizing high-quality, safer, and functional hardware that serves our community safer.
“Improvements like these directly support our mission to provide safe and enjoyable recreational spaces for our residents and visitors” Ian Golden – Director of Operations, Brevard County Parks and Recreation.
See the Difference for Yourself
The next time you’re out at one of our local fields or parks, take a look at the gate. You’ll see a cleaner, smoother, and more modern latch at work. At KinderLatch, we are proud to partner with Brevard County to provide a better standard for the places where our community plays.
KinderLatch: Better design. Better operation. A safer day at the park for Brevard County.
